What is Nubain and how is it used?
Nubain is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of pain and as an Anesthesia Supplement. Nubain may be used alone or with other medications.
Nubain belongs to a class of drugs called Opioid Analgesics.
It is not known if Nubain is safe and effective in children younger than 1 year of age. Non-opioid-tolerant patients: 10-20 mg/70kg IV/IM/SC q3-6hr PRN; individual dose not to exceed 20 mg
Nubain may cause serious side effects including:
slow breathing with long pauses,
blue colored lips,
difficult to wake up,
breathing that stops during sleep,
loss of appetite,
worsening tiredness, and
Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.
The most common side effects of Nubain include:
cold, clammy skin,
Tell the doctor if you have any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away
